Carnarvon Gorge National Park Central Queensland
Located within Queensland's Great Dividing Range this little oasis rises suddenly from the surrounding blue grass plains to reach a height of 900 metres. Carnarvon Gorge National Park is often compared with America's Grand Canyon with its spectacular vertical sandstone cliffs, abundant wildlife and fascinating Aboriginal rock art. This creek is one of many within the park that form the start of the Fitzroy river catchment, the second largest in Australia.
