Cape York is a very special place to me, and Chile beach symbolizes a lot of things about the peninsula. At times it can be calm tranquil and pristine and at others times cyclonic rugged and almost inhospitable. Yet despite its isolation and spectacular beauty Chile beach like the cape is still susceptible to the actions of a few mindless visitors who spoil it for everyone else by dumping their rubbish out a sea and by leaving their trash behind.
