Old Violet Vale Homestead Cape York Queensland
Old Violet Vale Station was built by one of Cape York's early pioneering family, the Gostelows. Aboriginals were used to carry the tin sheets on their heads from Port Stewart a two-week trip. Termite mounds were crushed and stamped down to make the floors and timber was harvested from the property using a pit saw.
