Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is Australia's third largest island (after Tasmania and Melville Island near Darwin). It is approximately 150km long and 55km wide. Because it was cut off from the mainland by rising sea levels some 9500 years ago it has a unique and interesting character all its own.

It has few feral animals, only the cat and the rabbit have been introduced so the wildlife is still plentiful.
