Windmills dot the Australian landscape, particularly in the Outback -- most are ugly bits of metal with no redeeming aesthetic feature. They present challenges to a photographer who looks for a photograph when there isn't an obvious one. It takes patience and requires experimenting with different lenses to somehow create an image. Here is a sampling of windmills that we found in South Australia, photographed at different times of day in different lights, from a variety of vantage points. Which ones do you like the best?
